Solar Ventilation
This particular application is designed to remove hot air from the top of the main lounge in a new building in Portugal. This is a two storey room with balconey. The entire south facing wall is glazed with a triple glazing system - the outside layer is self cleaning glass, the middle layer is heat refective glass and the third layer is tinted glass. The ventilation system is designed to create a flow of air in the room when the sun is shining.

The system was sized based on the power consumption of the 200mm fan.
What Else Has Been Considered?
No PV system is maintenance-free. Scheduled inspections of the systems will be made to ensure that the wiring and contacts are free from corrosion, the modules are clear of debris, and the mounting equipment has tight fasteners.
Monitoring of the power output of the PV module will be carried out to track the systems performance to help deter-mine whether the system is operating.
